Details:
As the pictures show and before I pulled batteries, they were reading within 1 degree of each other. Two identical - Honeywell RTH2310B 5-2 day programmable digital thermostats I have these that were controlling the zones in my house.
One of them has a very small bit white paint around the edge mounting base. Both controlled the temperature of my house very well when they were in use. Prior to me entering the room for a while taking pictures and handling them, they were reading same temperature. There is nothing wrong with them.
